Colorado is out

Spent more time in Colorado and left it wanting.  End of March and it snowed the night before we left.  Headed up the 24 to the 70 and the truck and RV did pretty good in the winds, going from 20-30 mph.  Got and app on my iphone called Drive Weather.  It tells the temperature, wind, and weather along your route, alternate routes and a timeline to look days in advance.  Nice app for $10a year.  Being that we're going to be in the midwest for a while, it will be very handy.  So we went through eastern Colorado and Kansas the last two days.  All flat and uninteresting.  The tress that aren't evergreen are still dormant.  Saw some green on plowed fields but that was about it.  Paying about $4.69 a gallon for diesel.  Tomorrow we head for the Branson area per she who must be obeyed.  We might meet up with James' wife Tabatha in Branson, she had to attend her uncles funeral and will be in the area.

  1. Eastern CO was the most barren part of my trip from Chicago to Redlands years ago. For great stretches I had no one else on my side of the road even in sight on the interstate. Overall, the midwest is nice, if you go north from MO I'd suggest Wisconsin or Ohio, avoid MN and MI.

  2. Radon, toooooo much in Colorado! We check out the entire state early 2000, didn't like how houses were built, water shortages......
